Château Pape Clément

Bernard Magrez acquired the prestigious Château Pape Clément, Grand Cru Classé de Graves, in the 1980s. It was his very first vineyard and the first chapter in the story of a passion between Man and wine.

Today he is the sole owner of 4 Grands Crus Classés of Bordeaux, including Château La Tour Carnet (Grand Cru Classé of 1855 in Haut Médoc), Château Fombrauge (Saint-Emilion Grand Cru) and Clos Haut Peyraguey (Premier Grand Cru). Cru Classé of 1855 in Sauternes).

His adventure continues in France and internationally with the acquisition of 42 vineyards in 10 countries around the world, which represent as many types of wines and as many emotions that he wishes to share with lovers of quality wines.

The Château Pape Clément vat room was redeveloped in 2007.
Here the vineyard is reproduced in vats: there are 28 vats, which all correspond to plots of different ages and grape varieties.

This reproduction of the vineyard in vats is called parcellation. It is all the more precise as the acquired knowledge of our vineyard allows us to assemble or, on the contrary, separate the plots to best respect the complexity of their micro-terroir.
